Uhh... Bear or Warthog? You can tame Warthogs (although there aren't a whole lot of rangers who use them) but you cannot tame Bears (in preseared ascalon) because they have something called Charm Breaker that disallows you to charm them.

Moas are all over the place, they're just called striders instead. To the absolute best of my ability to determine, the two are identical save for the name.

Warthogs are a bit less common, but there's one easy way I've found to get one. Go to Ascalon City, then leave via the gate as usual. If you look a little to your right (as you stand immediately outside the gate), there's usually a strider wandering about. Walk towards it a ways, and further in that direction you'll see either another strider, or a warthog. It seems to be random as to which one is there, and I haven't compiled any statistical information as to how often you'll find one as opposed to the other.

If you're having trouble finding that second strider/warthog, try heading over as though you're going to go kill the rogue bull. It'll be pretty directly en route.

I tamed Prince Rurik... :P

What about spiders though? They are red and green, but I can't tame them.

That's because spiders are, for the purposes of Charm Animal, not animals.

So Striders and Moas are the same thing? I felt very badly last bwe when I clicked on a Strider to follow it (I was being lazy at the time) and it attacked me. I had to kill it. I left it in a heap of pulp and feathers on the worm field and felt very guilty.

I know warthogs are pretty tough. How do they rate against a strider or a stalker?
